Meet the Lab

Dr. Bryn Webb, MD
Principal Investigator
Dr. Bryn Webb is a board-certified pediatrician, clinical geneticist, and clinical molecular geneticist. She serves as an associate professor in the Division of Genetics and Metabolism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is the Director of the Undiagnosed Disease Program. Dr. Webb also holds a faculty position at the UW Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine.
Beyond her work in research and in clinic, Dr. Webb is a passionate advocate for individuals with rare diseases. She participates in Rare Disease Day on Capital Hill and Rare Across America, where she meets with her state's U.S. Representatives and Senators to highlight the critical resources needed by the rare disease community.
Dr. Webb is committed to improving diagnostic outcomes and therapeutic strategies for children with rare diseases. She is enthusiastic about collaborating with the POU4F1 Foundation to advance research and support affected families.

Sophia Salemi
Research Specialist and Rare Disease Advocate
Sophia Salemi is a research specialist and clinical research coordinator with a strong background in genetics, genomics, and global health. A graduate from University of Wisconsin-Madison, she earned her degree in Genetics and Genomics along with a certificate in Global Health. In the fall of 2024, she began her Masters in Genetic Counseling at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
Sophia's research experience includes exploring the genetic mechanisms behind rare conditions in neuronal stem cell models and working to expand the understanding of pediatric rare disease phenotypes. As someone living with a rare disease herself, Sophia brings a unique and deeply personal perspective to her work. Her lived experience fuels her passion as both a scientist and a rare disease advocate.
As the head manager of the POU4F1 Clinical Registry, she is dedicated to advancing research, supporting affected families, and using her voice to drive greater awareness and understanding of rare neurological disorders.

Dr. Kristin Seaborg, MD
Pediatric Neurologist
Dr. Kristin Seaborg is a board-certified pediatric neurologist and pediatrician at University of Wisconsin Health and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She brings a wealth of expertise in pediatric neurology and sleep medicine, with a clinical focus on caring for children with complex neurological conditions.
Dr. Seaborg earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed her residency at UW Hospitals and Clinics. She is deeply committed to advancing pediatric neurological care through both clinical work and collaborative research.
As someone who is passionate about improving the lives of children with rare neurological disorders, Dr. Seaborg is excited to join the efforts of the POU4F1 Foundation, Inc. By participating in the foundation's research and family initiatives, she hopes to contribute to a deeper understanding of the condition and provide meaningful support to affected families.
